People like that are not worth your love never mind a single thought. I too was in a relationship like that a couple of years ago. In the end i was the stronger person. You need to walk away it is always easier said than done mind you. But someday you will meet someone and will kick yourself that you jet someone treat you like that. It started out with little things and once they know you are soft the use that against you. So what if you were nasty just leave it at that no one who can treat a person so disrespectful after all they have done for them are as you and your family seem to have done is not worth you anything. She needs to realise that she can not use people like a rug by walking all over them. You will soon realise that!
Good Luck!

Unfortunately you were being used from the very beginning to get away from her family. She knew you cared for her and your family liked her. Don't feel bad for trying to be supportive. Let her go.She's not even good enough to be friends with. I think that was real Sh**** for her to tell you to call her when you get a job. She knew you would feel partly responsible for her parents putting her out. But she already knew the consequences, but she needed a nice guy like you to pull it off. Just give yourself time.

Well I read it all and you should be proud of yourself. You did the noble thing but now it's time to leave that part of your life behind you. Live and learn is what we all do best.
Do not have any contact with her and get on to the next part of your life.

I shall be more graceful...i just read it all and first off ...sorry to hear ur having an awful time!
I think that you should cut off all contact with this crazy person and move on...the relationship will not go anywhere as there is too much bitterness. I know that's easier said then done but sending text messages nasty or nice ones is just giving her ammuniition to treat u like a doomat. Play the higher ground get a job, enjoy being single and once she realises she means nothing to u she'll have learnt a valuable lesson. It was really decent of your family to take her in it's no wonder the trust has gone due to her lack of respect. Let her stand on her own two feet and find someone who will treat u right! Good luck!

Yeah....what a mess. She did use you, but you sort of opened yourself up to being used. And then even once you realized what and who she was you kept up relations with her. I don't condone her actions, but I don't think you can totally play the victim. And I think you know that, which is probably why you're so annoyed.

She's moved on and you should, too. Learn from this experience and don't let someone use you again. If a friend is in trouble, maybe offer an ear to listen instead of a bed to sleep in.

A flat is likely to be leasehold, but the block could be freehold (not necessarily) . it is possible for each flat in the block to have a share in the freehold - but it is also possible it is owned by someone else. Regarding the attic, you do need to check your lease and see what it says there about consent. You need to log on to Land Registry website and get the 'official copy entries' for your flat. This will tell you if your flat is leasehold. You can also down load the freehold - there is a fee of £3 per official copy (and additional £3 if you want the plans). You might also be able to download the lease which will cost about £10. Really you need a property lawyer as you'll have to be able to make sense of a lease. But in the first instance see if you can download official copies. (NB This is what happens in England, Scottish law can differ)

the upstairs tenant is responsible. he may be able to claim on his insurance the tenant or the insurance company will try to sue the plumber but in all instances the tenant is your first port of call to rectify your damage

sounds like you either have a commonhold or a share in the freehold (of the building) plus a leasehold (of your flat)

The answer will be in the Report and Valuation that you paid for before you bought the flat. This is the report that advises of any problems and the condition of the property. etc.

You probably have it lying in a bundle of papers, but the building society/bank where you have the mortage will have a copy. You could also ask the building society or bank where you hold the mortgage, they are likely to have the info. on computer.

You can usually find out from the local council (where you pay council tax) if you are allowed to convert your loft or any other restrictions. They are a good place to start.
